This exhibition tells the story of mobility through public and private transport—the largest and most defining part of how we move. It explores the human need and determination to get from one place to another at any cost: bouncing along together in the back of a truck or building a long-dreamed-of vehicle with your own hands.

The renewed Small Machine Hall exhibition complements the Large Machine Hall’s car culture display focused on private automobiles. At its core are examples of Soviet-era buses, trucks, and motorcycles, alongside vehicles produced in small series or handcrafted in Estonia.

Designed in an open-storage style, the exhibition now spans a larger, two-storey space and has expanded to include stories ranging from real traffic incidents to the future of self-driving vehicles. This format allows us to present our collection more directly and in greater depth—offering meaningful experiences and insights for every visitor to the Estonian Road Museum.
